Loretta Elizabeth Nixon Young journey began November 4, 1966 to the union of the late Leroy & Joanna E. Nixon in Queens, New York. She was the granddaughter of the late Elizabeth & Hueral Davidson.

Loretta began her personal relationship with Christ at a young age by singing in the children choir at Majority Baptist Church, Queens New York; she continued to lift her voice at True Missionary Baptist Church, Cleveland Ohio along with singing in the Glee and Women’s Choir at Shaw High School. She graduated from Shaw High School in East Cleveland, Ohio and continues her studies at York College in Queens, New York.

Loretta became Office Young July 9, 1997 and dedicated her time and gave freely of herself to her kids at August Martin, Franklin K. Lane, P.S. 7 and P.S. 171 until present. Not only was she protector she was a mother figure to many.

Loretta met and married Lionel Young and from that union they raised three children Darrell, La’Shonda and Sha’Londa . She later met Jerry and they created Jerry Nigel Leroy Perez Jr. (chalupa) was born, if you wanted to see her shine just see her with grand’s James Young (stinky boodie), Emoni Hamilton(moo-d-do),Darrell Young Jr. (ruggie), her adopted grands Serenity & GiGi.

Loretta leaves to rejoice in her loving memory her four kids Darrel ,La’shonda, Sha’londa and Jerry of New York; her Uncle Willie and Aunt Shirley Davidson of Selma, AL; her sisters Theresa and brother in law Joe Hinton, Ladson S.C; her sister Lavina and brother in law Mitchell Lewis of Browns Summit, N.C ; sister in law Elaine Hall; Dianna Young Scott and Lorraine Tyler of New York; Brother in law Donnell Young of New York; Nephew Brandon Nixon of Greensboro, N.C and Matt Nixon of Columbus, OH; her niece Victoria Nixon and Raevaughn Fagan of New York, Ebony and Essences Hinton of Ladson, S.C ; and a host of cousins, family, friends and co-workers.

Loretta touched many lives and because of her love for animals she took in strays as well as befriended anyone who was in need. She called many her daughters and sons that she will truly miss. You could easily find her with several kids going to the movies or parades or birthday parties she took her kids as well as all the neighborhood kids. She recently travelled to the UK to help one of her adopted kids; there was not limit to what she would not do for those she loved.
