Obituary for Lillian English

Lillian English, daughter of the late John, Sr. & Edna English was born on September 21, 1924. She was the fourth of seven children born of this union.

Lillian received her formal education in Bennettsville, South Carolina & moved to New York after graduating High School. Lillian worked as a Domestic Technician for over 20 years.

Lillian accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1959 and joined Bayside Community Church of God In Christ where Thomas Burns, Jr. was the pastor. Lillian served the Lord as a missionary and faithful worker. She was known for her outreach ministry and was responsible for numerous souls giving there life to Christ. She was one of the pioneers who remembered the beginnings and the struggles of the church. Every day she was off she would go into Manhattan with another church member and stand on corners just to pass out tracks and witness to others. She impacted many lives especially young children.

Lillian departed this earth on March 8, 2014 at the Amsterdam in Port Washington, Long Island.

Missionary Lillian English was preceded in death by her son Lafayette English & four siblings; John English, Louis English, Dinah Coachman & Ethel English.

She leaves to mourn, Sonya & James Bradley, two sons, Kevin & Jimmy, one brother Dr. Boyd English (Rose) & one sister Edel Swiney and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins & friends.
