Obituary for Billy Jerome Scott

Billy Jerome Scott, son of the late Charlotte and Thomas Scott, was born October 15, 1950 in Lumberton, North Carolina. He departed this life September 3, 2014 in Queens,
New York.

Billy was raised in the Fairmont, North Carolina in a large, close, religious family. He was baptized at First Baptist Church were his grandparents elders in the church and aunts and uncles served on
He attended elementary school in Fairmont, North Carolina, 113 Benjamin Banner Middle School in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated Port Chester High School in 1968. After high school Billy enlisted in the Air Force where he served in Guam, Philippines until 1972.

Billy returned to Port Chester, New York after serving in the Air Force where he held several jobs, taxi driver, glass maker and warehouse worker.

Among the many things he enjoyed, playing the flute, fishing, watching baseball and playing cards. Even though Billy was not a member of a church he would often attending services at Mount Olivet Baptist Church in Hollis, New York.

Billy leaves to mourn; his sister Mary Scott, brother Broadus Scott, sister-in-law Blanche Scott, brother-in-law James McKay, nieces Charlette, Angela, Sophia, Selena, Gwendolyn, Anita, Keisha, Monique, nephews Victor and Roland and a host of great nieces and great nephews, relatives and friends.
With this home going, Billy is now reunited with his parents Charlotte and Thomas and Brothers Michael and Larry.

God saw the load was getting heavy,
The hills too hard to climb,
He gently closed his weary eyes,
And whispered, "Peace Be Thine."
