Mr. Vivian A. Brown was born on March 15th 1917 in Manchester, Jamaica W.I. to Helen and Edward Brown. On this day, Mr. Brown was born with a twin sister that passed away shortly after birth.
Although life was not easy for Vivian, growing up he developed sense of humor and a clever way to deal with others. As a child he was given baked goods by his mother Helen, like bun and cake to deliver to customers, but instead he would eat the cake and return home a few days later. His family gave him the nickname "Bad Boy”, which stuck with him for many years.
Throughout his life's journey, as an adult he developed the ability to use his hands and muscles to build roads, canals and bridges in Jamaica. All of his earnings were given o his wife Esther and children. Mr. Brown believed in working really hard to provide for his family. In 1972 he migrated to America, where he worked as a Security Guard in local banks and colleges, he worked well with others and was loved by many.
Eventually he retired from his employment at the age of seventy three. Even though he had retired from work, he had the strength of a young man. At times he would walk for miles. At the age of ninety, he once climbed his ladder to fix a hole on the top of his roof. God truly blessed this man with longevity and great health. Mr. Brown mentioned several times, he was, at peace with going away to the afterlife. Every day he prayed, read his bible, listened to religious ministries on the radio and talked with Jehovah God. Even though he was a man of strength, he knew his time to physically leave this earth was near.
On December 2nd, 2014 at ninety seven years old, the crossed over and entered the other side. Mr. Brown was a Son, Uncle, Husband, Father, Grand Father and Friend.
He leaves behind seven children, Joyce, Muriel, Albert, Murle, Maxine, Hugh, Oral, one daughter-in law Sybil (Sonia) and plenty of Grand and Great Grandchildren.
Today we bury his body, but his spirit continues to live on.
