On December 16 2014 the heavens opened up and a voice replied "Well done thy good and faithful servant, come and take rest from your labor and pain". Burruss Douglas was born in Brooklyn, New York on December 28,1955 to the late Francelle Douglas and to the late Roosevelt Childs, he was the third oldest of eight children. As a child he pick up the nick name Poo-Poo to his friend everyone knew his as Doug.

Burruss attended school in Brooklyn New York in 1969. He was then blessed with two daughters Adrienne Mercer age 44 years old and Carmen Mercer age 41 years old. He worked at Ozone Ford Motors in 1981 to 1989 as a manager of new car service. He dated and married Mildred Douglas at the age of 29 years old on August 22th 1985 where he moved to South Ozone Park, Queens. From that union he was blessed with five children Amaya Douglas age 33 years old, Monique Douglas age 31 years old, Burruss Douglas age 30 years old, Tyrone Douglas age 25 years old, and Alex Douglas age 19 years old.

Burruss was a family orientated person, he would spend lots of time with his grandchildren. He devoted his life to his wife, children and family. He was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Mildred Douglas and committed over 35 beautiful years to her. He was very successful and proud of what he have accomplished , everyone around him knew him as a dedicated hard worker. His accomplishments include being an entrepreneur of Bedding Plus New and Used Furniture , Bedding Plus Rubbish Removal Bedding Plus Moving services and Alex/Jarard Reality.

Burruss was a giving spirit and active member of the community. Burruss would go out his way to help a friend in need.He was very loving and caring, loved to sing and listen to music. He was a pet lover he left behind three dogs Ruby, Tommy and Claire and one cat Q-Tip. He was an New York sports fan, he loved the New York Mets the New York Knicks and also the New York Jets. Also in his younger years he loved to box and play basketball.

Burruss was preceded in death by nephew Kwame Douglas, aunt Sally Gooden his oldest sister Rosetta Douglas beloved mother who he cherish Francell Douglas and younger sister Colleen Conyers.

Burruss Douglas leaves to morn in his memory his wife Mildred Douglas seven children Adrian ,Carmen ,Amaya, Monique, Burruss, Tyrone and Alex 10 grandchildren Jasmine age 25 years old Shawndal age 22 years old Anthony age 21 years old Shakil age 20 years old Mackiya age 17 years old Jamiyah age 12 years old David age 8 years old, Nyla age 6 years old, Aiden age 3 years old, and Christian age 1 years old two great grandchildren and three brothers Randolph Douglas(wife,), Wayne Douglas (wife, Lena)and Saverio Douglas and two sisters Helen Wilson and Denise Bines (husband, Milton), Mother-in-law Luicille Johnson and Aunts Arrie Huggins (husband, Willie) and Victoria Hicks (husband, James) Uncles Burruss Douglas and James Gooden and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A father to most,
A leader too many,
A symbol of hope to all!

Burruss W Douglas rest in peace , we love you and we will miss you every day you are gone. We will meet again.
