Dorothy B. DaCosta, 72 of Waterhouse, Jamaica passed away peacefully on February 16, 2015 in New York after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy “Blossom” DaCosta was born on February 23, 1942 in Waterhouse, Jamaica to the late parents of Vicent and Elizabeth Miller. She was the second out of the four children born to this union.

She attended Trenchtown Primary to High School. English was her favorite subject and she also joined the track and field team. She had many hobbies but sewing was one of her favorites. She later transitioned her sewing hobby into a career working at Freezone Company for seven years.

In 1959 she met and fell in love with Albert George DaCosta. They later went on to have six children, Angela BaCosta, Leroy DaCosta, Anthony DaCosta, Ann-Marie DaCosta, Marlon DaCosta, and Debbie DaCosta. In 1968 they united in holy matrimony at Waterhouse Saint Patrick Catholic Church. Following this union four children, Oscar DaCosta, Julia DaCosta, Alando DaCosta, and Thelma DaCosta was added to the family.

She then became a stay at home mom tending to her children and grandchildren. She loved to travel and be surrounded by family and friends. So whenever she had the time she would travel.

Dorothy joins in heaven her parents, two sisters, brother, Rex Miller, husband, and daughter, Ann-Marie DaCosta.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory nine children, twenty-four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
