Obituary for Hamilton "Hammie" Boykin, Jr.

Hamilton "Hammie" Boykin, Jr.
On Saturday, April 4, 2015 at 11:45 PM this earthly life ended for Hamilton Boykin Jr. He proudly said Goodbye to this temporal world and said hello to his eternal heavenly home.

Hamilton Boykin Jr. was the son of the late Hamilton and Phyllis Boykin Sr. He was born August 7, 1959 in Selma Alabama. At an early age the family migrated to Far Rockaway, NY where he attended Public School PS 106, 198, and graduated from Beach Channel High School.

Hamilton dreamed of becoming an NBA player, but his dreams were shattered due to a hip injury.

Hamilton was a fun, lovable person, very resourceful and always greeted you with a big smile. He had a flare for fashion, loved music, dancing, and working on the computer. He loved some good ole home cooking (lol).

In 1997 Hamilton was employed by MTA of New York Bus Company and worked out of the Baisely Depot, where he was loved by his co-workers and passengers. In 2014, Hamilton retired from the MTA.
On June 14, 2008 Hamilton was joined in holy matrimony to Gail Warren. In this union 2 beautiful children were born.

He was predeceased by his father and mother (Hamilton Sr. and Phyllis), 2 brothers (Eddie and Arthur) and 1 nephew (Lamar).

He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted and loving wife, Gail Boykin of Flushing, NY, two daughters, Arnesha and Aailyah Boykin, one son, Hamilton Xavier Boykin, twin granddaughters, Jade and Jada Jean. Two sisters, Linda Thompson of Jamaica, NY and Regina Boykin-Wallace of Far Rockaway, NY, brother in-law Reginald Wallace and one brother, Morris Corsey of Ohio. Mother in-law, Alvesta Warren of Flushing, NY; Sister in-law, Gwendolyn Alcee and brother in-law Maurice Alcee of Atlanta GA, and brother in-law, Gregory Milton of West Virginia. Four nieces, Temaria, Denise, Shireese, and Dequitta. Four nephews, Edquan, Eddie, Maurice, and Morris Jr. Great niece, Arnicer; great nephew, Myking and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
