Richard Gilbert Hardy also known as “Ricky” was born on September 11, 1950 in Queens, New York. He was the 5th of 7 children. 6 boys and 1 girl, which 4 brothers proceeded him in death, Jimmy, Jerry, Bobby and Walter E. Hardy.

Ricky graduated from the New York City School System and was a true New Yorker.

He followed in his fathers footsteps and drove trucks for a living. Ricky loved to drive and the freedom of the open road. Ricky has one daughter, Robin Alers.

Through his union with the late Delta Moses, he has one son-in-law, Migel Alers, Jr. both of Staten Island.

He leaves to cherish fond memories; 4 grandchildren Michelle Angel Alers, James Anthony Alers, Robert Elliot Alers, and Richard Ramel Alers; 2 great-grandchildren Robert A. Alers, Jr. and Mason Richard Alers; 1 brother Elliott Hardy of New Rochelle; 1 older sister Mary Simmons of Ozone Park Queens; 3 aunts Essie Hardy of Springfield Gardens, Eleanor Cole of Maryland and Elizabeth Patterson of Jamaica, Queens and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

The sunset of Ricky was June 11, 2015. He now is resting with the Lord.
