Odessa Mae  Dennison
Born in Manning S.C. to Easter Mae and James Plowden, as a young girl in Sumpter, Odessa bailed cotton a long side her father and older male siblings where she held her own, picking as much sometimes more than her counter parts.

During her teen years Odessa hailed to NYC, where she wed and gave birth to three daughters Tonia, Pamela and Christine. As a young, single mother Odessa sought employment upon completion of some employment self help programs. Odessa landed employment with NYC DSS.

In 1975 Odessa met her soulmate Willie L. Dennison. Willie being the outstanding man that he is, played a major role in the lives of Odessa and her three daughters. The two have been inseparable.

Odessa being an ambitious person decided to attend college to elevate her career. She obtained her B.A. from the College of New Rochelle in the field of Social Services. The field in which she loved because she gained great pleasure in helping others.

After 35 years of service, Odessa decided to retire from employment with NYC DSS. Unfortunately, a short time after retiring Odessa was diagnosed with lung cancer. Through her strong faith in God, Odessa strenuously fought the disease with dignity and grace. With her family at her bedside, Odessa was set free form this life to move into her heavenly mansion on November 26, 2015.

Odessa is survived by her devoted husband Willie L. Dennison of Queens, New York. Daughters: Tonia Trisvan (widowed) Queens, NY; Pamela Bennett (Bobby); Christine Plowden all of Stamford Conn. Linda Dennison Bronx NY; Wenella Dennison NY NY; Lisa Wilson (Schrode) Middletown NY. Grand children; Itesha (Leonard), Jerell, Jeron, Colin, Justina, Antonio, Octaveus, Joziah, Dallas, Jamilla, Natalia, Zion, Colin Jr., Carter, Chanequa, Dashawnda, Iyanna, Breyanna, Lindsey, Schrode Jr, Robert, Autumn and Josiah, Nephew/surrogate grandson Julius. Siblings: Leon McDuffie (Kate); Enozle Plowden Stamford Conn; Easter Jenkins-Bell Stratford Conn. Niece/surrogate daughter Doris Demunn (Vincent) a host of family and friends.

Odessa is proceeded in death by her loving mother Easter Mae Plowden, father James Plowden and elder sister Ola Jean Jamison-Mentor.
