Hazel M.  Steward
Hazel M. Steward was born June 1, 1915 to the late Martha and Roxy Jones in Knoxville, Tennessee. Hazel was the youngest of eight children. She departed this life on Saturday August 27, 2016. She now joins all of her late siblings in heaven. John Jones, James Jones, Lucille Grant, Inez Howell, Georgeanna Williams, Robert Jones, and Clyde Jones. At a very early age, Hazel moved to Slickville, Pennsylvania. Hazel received all of her education in Slickville, Pennsylvania.

In April 1934 Hazel met and married Orrie Steward. To this union one daughter was born. Hazel received Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Parkview Baptist Church, in Slickville, Pennsylvania. She late joined “The Church of God In Christ”, and remained in this faith until she expired. She was a mother of the church in Derry, Pennsylvania. Hazel was a humble, unique, quiet person who loved the Lord, her church, and her Pastor. Her favorite bible verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”.

Hazel will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Hazel leaves to mourn her daughter, Martha Mae Williams of Queens, New York. Hazel was the proud grandmother of three grandchildren. Kevin Orrie Williams, and his wife Gena Williams of Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, Nathaniel Keith Williams of Queens, New York, Keisha Renee Williams-Cameron and her husband Charlie Cameron of Queens, New York. She also leaves to cherish her five great grand children Kevin, Kyler, and Kendall Williams of Stroudsburg Pennsylvania. Ryonna and Ryan Burrell of Queens, New York, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
