Obituary for James Wheeler

James  Wheeler
James Wheeler was born on November 30, 1931 to the Lacy and Laura Wheeler in Mullins, South Carolina. He worked as a farmer in his early years. He was married to the late Betty Jean. To this union, three children were born.

James later relocated to NYC where her worked and retired as a Custodial Engineer from Franklin General Hospital. James was a member of Highland Ave Church of New York.

James affectionately known as Uncle James enjoyed helping others. He would drive friends to and from their errands to help them out. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews always encouraging them to further their education and make sure that they excelled in everything that they did.

James was a great mentor to all of us. As the patriot of the Wheeler family, he was always there to guide and encourage the younger generation. James was well known for to you like it is. He loved bringing a smile and telling jokes to everyone that knew him.

James was loved by neighbors and friends. He was preceded in death by his son James Jr. and daughter Cherryann and his brothers John, Cleveland and William; his sisters Catherine Viola, Addie and Flojane and grandson Tarrie.

He leaves to cherish in memory his loving niece Sharon and her children Shakisha Bianca and Wayne Jr. who cared for him from the time he became ill until his death his daughter Patricia (Thomas) and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
