Obituary for Darryl Curtis Kelly

Darryl Curtis Kelly was born in New York City, New York on December 2, 1969. He was raised in St. Albans, Queens N.Y. by the late Deacon William D. Kelly and his late wife, the Reverend Vernella Kelly. He had a happy and normal childhood growing up with his siblings.
Darryl attended 811Q Public School during his elementary years. He then attended United Cerebral Palsey until his completion of the program. Upon Graduation, Darryl went on to work at A.C.R.M.D. to work on Prevocational Skills at the agency. He worked there for several years until he transitioned to Y.A.I. a program that supports people with disabilities and helps them gain independence in the work place. It is a Center if Occupational Outreach. In recent years he was a resident of the Queens Parent Resource Center, where he co-mingled and met many of his friends.
He attended church regularly, first as a youth at New Covenant Church of Christ Baptist where he found God early in his life. He was a Charter Member of United Faith Baptist Church. He sang on the choir as well as serve on the Usher Board.
Darryl was a kind and generous person with a great sense of humor. He was a gentle soul who loved to smile. Those who knew him knew he had an impeccable memory, better than most of us. He loved the to watch television and his favorite sports team was the Mets. He was beloved by everyone he came in contact with.
Darryl leaves to mourn three brothers Billy Kelly, William J. Kelly, Deacon Robert D. Kelly; three sisters Barbara Parrish, Annette Akins and Wilma Ferebee; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, especially his United Faith Church Family.
