Leon Augustus Parks, 78, passed away peacefully at Jamaica Hospital on Wednesday, August 9th, 2017 in Jamaica, New York. After a struggle with prostate cancer and acute respiratory failure, he was called home. Leon was born on September 18th, 1938 to Stella and Alvin Parks in Georgetown, Guyana.

Leon was a passionate man who enjoyed automotive, he worked as mechanical engineer until he retired in 2011. During his days after retirement he enjoyed time in his summer garden, listening to music and cooking. Leon will be remembered for his great jokes and the good he has done for others.

Leon is survived by his loving wife Desiree Parks of 18 years and children, Fiona, Michelle, Maureen, Terrance, Laurel, Franklin, Newton, Eon, Joanne, Colin, Leona and others, along with 30 grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and extended family. He will have a special place in the hearts of the families, friends and everyone he has touched while on this earth.
