Gloria was born on May 13th, 1954 to Mother,Hazel Nicholson and Father George Ferron. She was the first of seven children. Gloria grew up in a small town named Tower Hill in Jamaica WI and graduated from St. Andrew Technical High School.
Gloria was very close to her Dad and learned her good cooking skills from him. She always touted herself as a daddy's girl. Soon out of High School Gloria had her first and only child, A daughter, Shernette Flash. Soon after the birth of Shernette Gloria's father, George Ferron was tragically hit by a drunk driver and died.
Gloria realized that instead of going to college she would have to work to help support her mother and siblings. Gloria got her first job and worked as a typist at an insurance company . Gloria later got married to Alphonso Cross and several years later She sought the opportunity for a better life and migrated to New York City in 1989. Gloria's primary drive was to help her family. She used to say "In Jamaica life hard".
Gloria moved in with her cousin Desmond Nicholson and wife Maxine Nicholson in Jamaica New York and while in NYC she earned certificates as a Home Health Aid, OSHA Fire Safety, and in Infection Control, etc .
Gloria was a loving generous soul. Everything she did she gave it 110 %. Her love would shine through in the care that she gave to everyone around her. She was not afraid to work and work hard. She always went the extra mile. If she cooked a meal, you would think you were eating from a gourmet restaurant. If it was laundry, she would get the whites whiter than white. She was a great organizer and she loved to entertain.
