Obituary for William "Scobbie" Stokes

WILLIAM Stokes “Scobbie” was born to the late Amy Wilks on October 1st, 1927 in Norfolk, Virginia, and his stepfather William Wilks.
Scobbie early childhood education was in the Antioch school. From there he worked with many friends and cousins in Yorktown, Virginia.
Scobbie joined the Army in 1946 and he was honorably discharged on August 24th, 1947. Upon his Military discharged, he worked as a fisherman in Virginia, New Jersey, and Louisiana. He then moved to New York, where he worked at the Chemical Bond for forty years.
Scobbie loved music and to socialize with his family and friends.
He was proceeded in death by his mother Amy Wilks, his stepfather William Wilks and two brothers William and James Wilks.
He leaves to mourn to cherish his memories his special niece, Amy Diane Odom of Yorktown, Virginia.
His nieces Antoinette Perez (Eddie), Mildred Walker (Marquis), Burnette Wilks Glorester, Virginia. His nephews Billy Wilks of Richmond, Virginia, his special great nieces, April Odom, Great Great niece, My Queen, Amy Ward and Great Great nephew Kragory Odom. A host of great nieces, nephews, Great Great nieces, and nephews, a special cousin Louise Griggs, of Philadelphia P.A. a host of cousins and friends.
