Obituary for Louise "Weezie" Streeter

Heaven Couldn’t Wait for You

On February 8, 2018, Louise “Weezie” Streeter peacefully crossed the realm of time into God’s unchanging hands. Louise was born on August 30, 1948, in Corona, NY, to the late Leroy and Dorothy Dewer.

As a child, Louise was the oldest daughter of six children whom she helped raise, protect, and nurture. After growing up in Corona Queens, she moved to Jamaica Queens to raise her three children. Throughout her career, she worked at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and dedicated her remaining years to caring for others.

Affectionately called “Weezie” she was one of the kindest people you could ever meet. She always opened her heart and home, to people in need. In her spare time, she volunteered at the Jacob Riis Community Center for senior events and elections. “Love the Lord, your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength,” personifies the way Weezie lived her life. She had a strong unwavering faith in her Lord, Jesus Christ.

Louise is survived by her husband Sterling Streeter, three children Tonya Burt, Michael Streeter and Katrice Moore, a stepdaughter Zina Streeter and a daughter-in-law Nikita Davis, her two brothers Lawrence and Logan Dewer, two sisters Lorraine Rodriguez and Laurie Dewer and her sister-in-law Patricia Dewer. Her twin brother Leroy Dewer Jr. preceded her in death. Louise also has 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, who she cherished with all her heart and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted family and friends to continue her legacy.
