Obituary for Thurman D. Clark

Thurman D. Clark
Thurman Donneil Clark , son of Dorothy Marie Clark and the late Johnnie Clark,
Jr. was born on August 29, 1958 in Belhaven, North Carolina. He departed this
life suddenly on Friday, February 23, 2018.
A man of great character and a genuine heart of gold, Thurman gave his all, and
always put his family before himself. His love and commitment to his children
was evident in all that he did. He sought every opportunity to share how proud
he is of his daughters, Takecia Saylor, Bettina (Shafford) Campbell, Johnette
Clark, and Mahalya Clark; and his adored grand-daughter Sha'Riauna Campbell.
Hardworking and a wonderful charismatic spirit, Thurman had the gift of making
friends and leaving a lasting positive impression. Thurman was employed at The
Salvation Army Corporation for over fifteen years and often returned to visit his
friends. Upon retirement, he often volunteered at the local food pantry where he
helped serve the needy.
Thurman is the eldest of his parents' four children. Thurman has one brother who
preceded him in death, Jeffrey Steven Clark. He leaves behind to carry the torch
of loving kindness and his love of God, his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Clark, long time
companion Belinda McMullen, two brothers Darrell Clark and two sisters,
Ernestine Clark, and Brittany Clark; admired uncles John Clark, and Anthony
Bunch, beloved aunt Mrs. Verna (Arnell) Whitney of North Carolina, and a host of
nephews, nieces, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
God has truly called home one of his Angels, and we will all carry Thurman in our
hearts each day. Rest assured that he is at peace. Rest now dear Angel, we will
look for you by our sides as the day when we will meet again draws near.
