OLIVIA MERCELINA CROSSMAN CAREY affectionately known as
"C" was born on June 25, 1929 the fifth child of Stanley and Doris Crossman
in Silver City in the Providence of Colon of the Republic of Panamá.

Olivia graduated from Rio Bravo High School and had her first child in Barbara
in 1948. She married her sweetheart Wilfred Fisher that same year. Olivia had
two other children Wilfred (Lloyd) and Tyron (Tony).

Olivia followed her brothers Stanley and Carlos to the US in 1953 with her
husband. In 1954 her last child Carlos was born.

Olivia family resided on Pulaski Street for a number of years until she was able
to purchase her own home (Home Base) in 1964 on Prospect Place, Brooklyn,
New York. Having resided there for over 50 plus years everyone migrated to
Prospect Place. Her mother Doris moved in shortly afterwards and her eldest
sister Linda and brother Leroy.

Olivia loved to cook under the tutorage of her mother Doris. Phones rang
throughout Brooklyn when cowfoot soup, round steak, bakes and codfish was
being made.

In 1984 Olivia was ordained a Minister of St. Ann's Protestant Episcopal Spiritual
Church Inc. She held several services in her basement with her fellow sisters of
the ministry.

Prospect Place was a 6 family unit with basically family members occupying most
of the Unit minus one unit (which also were treated like family).

Olivia was known as Naña in the community to most of the youngsters who also
migrated to the house and was taken in and sheltered when times were needed
due to various circumstances.

Olivia was known as a domestic goddess with a smile and open arms to her
nephew and nieces and family friends who came by to visit anytime of the day.

On April 7, 2018 Olivia transitioned on following her father Stanley, brother
Carlos, son Tyron, son Lloyd, daughter Barbara, mother Doris, husband Fred,
brother Leroy, brother Stanley and sister Linda.

Olivia leaves behind her son Carlos; grandchildren: Emeterio (Emmett), Tyron
Jr., Ismael, her Wingman, Geraldo, Yvonne, Francisco, Eric, Merce, Aaron,
also lost child Angel; twelve great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren;
her sisters: Lasternia and Marilina; nephews and nieces,
in-laws, cousin and family and friends.
