Obituary for James Charles Robinson

James Charles Robinson
James Charles Robinson Harris was born on August 18, 1961, in Montgomery Alabama to the late Willola and Jobe Robinson.

James was educated in the New York City Public School System in the boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens. He worked as a maintenance worker in public housing. He was a member of Praise Tabernacle Inc. He loved attending services with his church family. He also loved providing gum, candy and sweets to the congregation.

James had a love for drawing, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. James was a person who enjoyed life and was always active. He was loving, thoughtful, giving, and a helpful individual who valued his family. James was friendly and enjoyed meeting new people, he showed respect to everyone he met, and in return people respected him. Anyone who had the pleasure of knowing him would tell you that he had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh. He joked often. James had a great spirit. He showed his love often to family and friends, and would freely tell family that he loved them.

James was a person who was devoted to his family. He was a person you could always count on and would always be willing to help. He planned picnic play dates in the park with his nieces and the neighborhood kids. All the kids in the neighborhood adored him. His family and friends knew if they needed anything he was willing to provide a helping hand. He was an outgoing soul who loved to attend church, and family, friends parties and events. You would often see him getting the party started by making everyone comfortable with his wit. Family was very important to him and he supported his family and friends unconditionally.

James' soul departed his physical life on Thursday, April 26, 2018, in the comfort of his home. James has gone on to reunite with his Mother, Father, and brothers. I’m sure he will also meet up with some of his friends. James was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

James will be lovingly remembered by his children James Robinson, Jr., Tiffany Archey, James Gillespie, Franklin Gillespie, Jasmine Gillespie; three sisters: JoAnn Artis, Mamie Robinson-Cooper, Sharon Robinson; two brothers: Franklin Robinson, Rodney (Timothy) Robinson; Sisters-in -law, Brothers-in-law, a host of grandchildren, one great-grand child, nieces, nephews, god sisters, relatives and friends. James was predeceased by his brothers Joe Robinson, Tyler Robinson, and John Robinson
