Obituary for Jaiquan Lee Cole

Jaiquan Lee Cole, age 32, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018, at 1:19 am. He was born Thursday, June 5th, 1986 in Queens, New York, to Arthurlyn Cole Billups and Jihad Williams at 12:08 pm. He graduated from Queens Vocational High School in 2003 and continued his education at SUNY Delhi. He worked as an Electrician with Amtrak for 8 years. Jaiquan truly lived life to the fullest through his love of baseball, cars, motorcycles, and Jordan sneakers. He enjoyed traveling, being around family and hanging out with his extensive brotherhood of friends. The love of Jaiquan’s life was his mother, Arthurlyn Cole Billups, who he could talk to about anything for hours at a time. One of the many things they loved to do was hug each other, dance together, and just laugh. They always were supportive and encouraging of each others choices in life. His father, Jihad Williams was his confidante whom he loved beyond measure. They talked on the phone daily, sometimes several times in a day. Anytime he wanted to talk or vent about anything he knew he could call his father. His best friend in the world was his grandfather, Deacon Arthur L. Cole, who he lovingly called dad. Everyone who knows Deacon Arthur Cole know that Jaiquan is always right there beside him. And with Deacon Cole’s influence Jaiquan grew to become a man with integrity that we all know today. And he adored his grandmother, Lily Ann Cole, who he nicknamed Mommy Lily Ann which he passed on to his maternal siblings, cousins, his daughters, and nephew. She was the woman who kept him on his toes about all things life related. Jaiquan’s greatest accomplishments of all was becoming a father to his two beautiful daughters, Brianna Guin-Cole & Arianna Guin-Cole. Jaiquan would do anything and everything for his girls. The easiest way to put a smile on his face was to hear the girls laugh, to see them dance, and to hear them sing in unison. Jaiquan was blessed with three aunts, Sylvia Cole, Karen Eason, and Fatima Williams; two uncles, Troy Williams, and Octavio Power; and two godmothers; Tanice Quiroz, and Lisa Graham who loved him dearly. Jaiquan was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandfather, James Sanders; paternal grandfather, Lloyd Williams; his paternal grandmother, Betty Power. Jaiquan leaves to cherish his memories to his mother, Arthurlyn Cole Billups; his father, Jihad Williams; his daughters, Brianna Guin Cole, Arianna Guin Cole; his maternal grandmother, Lily Ann Cole; his maternal grandfather, Deacon Arthur Cole; his paternal great-grandmothers, Thelma Whittaker, Mae Frances Powell; And a host of siblings, Patrick Billups, Mecca Holloway, Jemel Marner, Danae Billups, Charles (CJ) Glover, Allen Billups, Jihad Williams Jr., Jamal Marner, Shanae Billups, Nathan Billups. And a large family full of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
