Malinda Faye  Henry
Malinda_Faye Henry was born on April 3, 1964 in Bay Minette, Alabama to Anna and the late Dan Henry. The sixth child, "Lynn" as she was affectionately known was a joyful addition to this family. She could always be found with a smile on her face. Malinda passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday July 9, 2018.

Malinda excelled in school, she graduated a year early from Martin Van Buren High School in Queens Village, NY. She attended York College.

Malinda accepted Christ at an early age. She was baptized at Mount Olivet Baptist Church of Hollis, NY where she served in various capacities including Choir Director. Malinda joined Union Baptist Church in Hempstead, NY in 2006. There she was affectionately known as the "Song Bird." She sang in the choir at Union and several other gospel groups traveling all around the world. Malinda sang on the "Pray for Peace Live from Osaka" recording with Pastor Terrance L. Kennedy and the Reach Week International Mass Choir in Japan. Malinda also sang on "The Introduction" recording with Minister Keith Branch and The Branch Company. She loved to sing to the glory of God.

Malinda worked for the City of New York for over 30 years, starting in December 1984 with the NYC Department of Consumer Affairs. In October 1996 she started working at the NYC Department of Design and Construction. She served as Director of Program Management for the ITS PIMS Support Unit. She was a highly respected employee and Supervisor, loved by all who met her.

The joys of Malinda's, life included her family, shopping and traveling. Some of her travel took her as far as Italy, Japan, Egypt, and Ireland. She loved to travel with her travel agents and special friends.
Malinda could always be found singing. Her love for her church family, co-workers and all the people she encountered was obvious. She treasured being with her family and spending time laughing, traveling, cooking and fellow-shipping. Her love for her mom, sisters and brother was enormous.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her family: her mother Anna Henry, God daughter and niece Loetta (Henry) Henry, God daughter Jasmine Quash, sisters Patricia (James) Larkins, Barbara (Michael) Huff, Connie Henry, Vanessa Henry, Marcia (LaMarr) Jones, Lisa (Gregory) Jackson and her only brother Derrick (Donna) Henry. Special sisters Loetta Karen Edwards, Karen Smith and Aurelia Miller. Special brothers Ronny Ates and John Stanley, nephews Curtis (Jeanette), Christopher, Andrew and Jayson; nieces: Pamela, Aja, Brittney, Jasmine, grandnephew: Christian and grandnieces- Aaliyah and & Lil Loetta. As well as several uncles, aunts, cousins and many close friends.
