Obituary for Cynthia Adele "Slim" Wright

Cynthia Adele "Slim" Wright
Cynthia Adele Wright, the second daughter of the late Deacon Carl J. Wright and Deaconess Rachel Wright, was born in Queen, NY on September 12, 1955. She peacefully departed this life for her eternal home on July 26, 2018.

She professed her faith in Jesus Christ at an early age, was Baptized, and became a member of the Bethany Baptist Church, where she served as a member of the Youth Choir, Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and the Usher Board for many years. She was also a member of the Bethany Baptist Church Girl Scout, Troop.

Cynthia attended schools in the Queens District of the New York City School System and graduated from Long Island City High School in 1973. She then attended Hunter College for a short time. Afterwards, she enrolled in Aldephi Business School where she received a Certificate in Business Administration. Upon completion of the Program, she was hired by Tri-State Envelope Corporation and worked as a clerk in the Accounts Receivable Department. She worked at Tri-State for thirty-three years until she retired as a result of illness.

Cynthia easily made friends due to her infectious personality. She loved to take pictures, shop (especially for shoes), laugh, and eat. Cynthia especially enjoyed spending time with friends and family.

Dancing and listening to music were some of her favorite past times. She loved to dance the Hustle and enjoyed attending summer concerts where she saw many of her favorite Gospel, R&B, and Jazz artists perform. However, her preferred genre of music was Jazz.

She leaves to mourn her: Sisters - Rachel Mecane (Paul) of Staten Island, New York; Carrie Wright of Queens, NY; and Tracy Wright of Springfield, NJ; Brother Thomas Duncan (Theresa) of Westfield, SC; Deborah Arnold (Gene) of Middletown, CT whom she loved as a sister; Uncle Walter James Ballard, Aunt Margaret Browne; Nephews - Corey Childs, Glenn Kimbrough, and Gregory Mecane; Godsons- Brandon Arnold, Ephraim Evans IV; and Jason Evans, and a host of other relatives and friends.
