Obituary for Cordell W "Bricks" Hall

Cordell Hall, 53
Cordell Woodrow Hall passed away after a brief illness on December 8, 2018 at Claramaas medical Center in Bellville New Jersey.
Cordell was born as a twin on March 22, 1965 in Georgetown Guyana to Joyce Petrie Hall and the late Owen Hall. Unfortunately, his twin sister Marcia Hall died at the early age of one year old leaving him and his older sister Valarie as the only children of his parents Owen Hall and Joyce Petrie-Hall.
He spent his formative years in Guyana and attended Stella Morris Primary School, then later St. John’s College. Upon graduating he pursued a career in the Guyana Police Force where he excelled in his duties. Starting out in 1985 as a Detective in the Special Force Branch he worked his way up the ranks to the position of Inspector before leaving for the USA.
In March of 2010 he migrated to the United States to join the love of his life Oneka Miller-Hall to whom he married on March,29th 2008 in Georgetown, Guyana prior to migrating to the United States. Cordell worked at Seton Hall University in the Security Department from April 2010 and received numerous awards and commendation for his hard work and dedication to service. He remained in their employ until succumbing to illness and receiving his wings on December 8th, 2018.
Cordell is survived by his loving wife Oneka Miller-Hall, His mom Joyce Petrie-Hall and his older sister Valarie Ramroop and brother-in-law Tyron Ramroop, nieces Saundra and Julia as well as nephews Josh and Justin. He also leaves behind his cousin Dexter Allen and numerous friends including Errol, Kevin, Nigel, Yohan, Bavo, Berry and other co-workers too numerous to mention.
He will be remembered as a loving son and husband who lived by the principles he believed in and although appearing stern to some was an immeasurable loving person to those who knew him. Cordell will be deeply missed, but this opportunity should be used to celebrate his life and the wonderful memories he created that will live on even as he moves on.
