Obituary for Janet Quinones DeVore

Janet Quinones DeVore was born on September 6, 1959 in Cebu City, Philippines. She was the fourth child of Candelario and Luzminda Quinones. As a child, Janet was very shy and quiet. She would attend church every Sunday. She attended college taking secretarial courses. She was daddy's little girl and used to watch cartoons with her nieces and nephews, feeling like she was a kid all over again.

In 1985, she met James DeVore and they were married in 1987. She became a devoted mother to her two loving daughters, Victoria and Vanessa. Janet loved music and gardening. You could always find her in the garden during the spring. All the neighbors loved her garden and most of all, they loved her. Things would light up as soon as she talked to you. She carried the same attitude at her work place. Janet was an employee at Mayfair Care Center in Hempstead, NY for more than 10 years as a dietary aide.

Janet will truly be missed in both places. Janet leaves behind her husband of 23 years, two daughters, Victoria and Vanessa, nine brothers and sisters, an army of nieces and nephews, eight grand-nieces and nephews, and a list of friends too large to name.
