Obituary for Lasheim "Mr. Mann" Seabrook

Print
Lasheim Seabrook affectionately known as “Mr. Mann” or “Mumbles,” the son of Jamil Johnson and Jean Seabrook-Lawrence was born October 18, 1979 in Queens, NY. Lasheim attended August Martin High School. His later careers in Manhattan were at Tri State Diesel and Bright Star Couriers. Lasheim was always the life of the party. He loved to dance, cook, dress nicely, tell jokes and kept a smile on everyone’s face. He continued to make us laugh even through his last moments.

In his late twenties, Lasheim moved to Brooklyn, NY where he met Latoya Wade and from that union they had a son. He recently formed a union with his significant other, Nyasia Victor, in which they produced 3 beautiful baby girls.

He quietly departed this life on November 5, 2018 at Brooklyn Hospital with his family by his side after this sudden illness consumed him. Lasheim now joins in heaven his Great-Great Grandmother Ruby James, his Great Grandfather Robert James, Grandmother Roberta James, Grandfather Edward Johnson Jr., Grandmother Lela Johnson, Uncle Jerry Johnson, Aunt Francis Johnson and Uncle Bobby!! Along with great Uncles and a great Aunt.

His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of: his parents Jamil Johnson, Jean Seabrook-Lawrence and Keith Lawrence. His son Demani Seabrook, daughters Paige, Payton (twins) and Neveah Seabrook; sisters Lakisha Seabrook and Shereen Johnson, step-sister Tanequa Lawrence, brothers Lamel (Buddy) Seabrook and Nazir Lawrence; Great grandmothers Eunice Martin and Odessa Sampson; Uncles Edward (Shawn) and AL-Amin; Aunts Edna, Cheryl, Patricia (Deedee), Alberta, Adrienne and Lichelle; Great Uncles Alvin and Richard, Great Aunts Deborah and Natalie; nephews Lamel Seabrook Jr. and Mika’il Atherley, 2 step nephews and a step niece along with a host of 1st, 2nd and 3rd generation cousins. Lasheim had many friends whom he loved and whom loved him.

Lasheim was always in good spirits and never complained. He was strong and fought one of the hardest fights. We love him but God loves him more and called him home.

“…dressed fly & was a die hard Knicks fan like myself, he loved his parents, Lash was a good dude.”
-Fludd (Demani’s grandfather)
