Obituary for Leola L. Parson

The Obituary
Leola Louise Parson was called to God's Kingdom on May 20, 2019. She will be affectionately missed by the many whose lives were touched by her joyful spirit. She had the ability to turn a stranger into a friend with her kindness.
Weezie was born on September 2, 1945 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Quillie and Zeola Lewis Perry. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Timothy Perry, Sr., and her sisters, Dorothy Perry Green and Luretha Perry Thomas.
She graduated from Wilkinson High School, Orangeburg, SC in 1963. After several visits to New York, she met Joseph Parson, Jr. who she later married in Orangeburg, SC. She later moved to New York where they had three daughters, Cynthia Louise Parson, Vallerie Sandella Parson-Jones, Cyndella Marie Williams.
Weezie was employed as a Home Attendant in Cedarhurst, New York for many years. She later landed a job as a Fingerprint Technician with the New York City Police Department where she served for over 20 years before retiring. During her retirement she worked as a foster Grandmother at the Community and Family Head Start in Far Rockaway, NY were they called her "Grandma Weezie".
Those remaining with loving memories and countless blessings includes: her daughters Cynthia Louise Parson of Brooklyn, NY, Vallerie Sandella Parson-Jones of Bronx, NY, Cyndella Marie Williams of West Hempstead, NY; two brothers, Willie Perry of Far Rockaway, NY, and Leroy Perry of Orangeburg, SC; one sister, Linda Perry - White of Orangeburg, SC; two son-in-laws, Leslie Williams, Jr., (Squirt) of West Hempstead, NY, and Carolus Jones of Bronx, NY; seven grandchildren; Shakia Latasha Parson, Natifa Malkia James who she raised has her own children, Ebboni Cynthia Williams, Mia Walker, Nathanael Purnell Williams, Isaiah Walker, Timothy Daniel Williams; four great-grandchildren; Nevaeh Mary Sarai Hanshaw, Aryanna Gabrielle Hanshaw, Naomi Aujanee Brooks, Gabriel De'von Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
