Obituary for Jefferson Williams Sr.

Jefferson Williams Sr. was born on October 7, 1941 in Macon, Georgia. He was one out of 9 children to the late W.C Williams and Naomi Bryon Williams. He departed this life on June 20, 2020 in the comfort of his home in Queens, NY.

Jefferson moved to New York when he was 2 years old with his grandmother Mary and Brother Therman. He attended the public-school system and after graduating from East New York H.S specializing in Boat Building he went into the Army. After his honorable discharge from the Army in 1962 he took up the profession as a furnished finisher, his first job was at Glendale products. In 1965 he married the love of his life Janet Gittens, to this Union was born his 2 daughters Monique and Korine Williams and son Jefferson Williams Jr. As he remained with his profession for over 50 years with a couple different companies he decided to retire.

Jefferson enjoyed fishing with his son Jefferson Jr. They would come back with coolers filled with fish and stories that went along with the day. He enjoyed cleaning his own fish and prepping them to be cooked. Jefferson also enjoyed gardening and planting which he would share with his friends and family and was very stern about taking care of them or don’t come asking for another one. He also enjoyed watching sports and going back and forth with his granddaughter

Justeen about her team choices. He enjoyed getting haircuts from his daughter Monique and having special moments with his look alike daughter Korine. He would always go to his granddaughter Aiysha to help him with anything around the house that he could not do she was his handy girl. Jefferson looked forward to celebrating his wedding anniversary every year at different restaurants with his family, he loved to eat and laugh, a personal side not everyone got to experience from him. He was always a morning person even after he retired, he would still get up at the same time every day but instead of going to work he would take out the house dogs Fluffy and Mookie aka smoochie, they were happy to see him every morning, he would then make himself a cup of tea and watch the news on his couch.

Jefferson was always a blunt and tell you about yourself person whether you like it or not that’s what made him ONE OF A KIND. He will always be remembered for his strong personality and being a provider to his family.
