"All the World's a stage and all the men and women merely players.
They have their exits and entrances and one man in his time plays many parts"
(Quote from William Shakespeare)
Leon Patrick Bayrd was born on November 11, 1948 to the late Claude and Louise (Corlette) Bayrd in British Guiana now the Republic of Guyana, South America. Seventy one years later, Our Almighty God, in His infinite wisdom and divine providence invited him home in the early morning of July 23, 2020 at the Jamaican Hospital in Queens, New York
Leon began his education at St. Thomas R.C. School and Campbellville Government School. He then attended The Government Technical Institute in Georgetown, Guyana where his main focus was in Carpentry and Furniture. He started out his work life at Kissoon's Furniture Store and subsequently embarked on his own creating the very best in dining, living and bedroom furniture. Leon was indeed a very talented and skillful Craftsman.
Leon met and subsequently married Dawn Harper in 1973. This union produced three daughters and one son -- Rae Andrea, Abby-Gail, Karen and Patrick.
Leon migrated to the USA in 1992 to join his family and siblings. He continued in his Craftsmanship and worked at Old Construction
Services, LLC in Lodi, New Jersey.
He was indeed a very faithful son, nephew, brother, husband, father, cousin and a true friend to all whose lives he touched and no doubt this made him a 'GOOD MAN'.
Leon has left to mourn his loving wife Dawn, children Rae Andrea, Abby-Gail, Karen and Patrick; grandchildren Kerri-Anne, Kayla, Deanna, Meya , Kaliia, Kalissa, Jayden, Louis and Grayson; son-in-law Louis Jr.; brothers Desmond and Philip; sisters Claudette, Laurel and Bernadette; nieces, great nieces, nephews; brothers-in-laws Errol, Gordon, Dudley and Trenton; sisters-in-laws Yvonne and Zita and a great number of cousins too numerous to mention by individual names (Moore, Mitchell, Corlettes, St Hills, Croals and Hazlewoods) and a host of cherished friends.
Leon has gone on to meet with the Lord, his grandparents, parents two brothers and a sister, uncles and aunt, father- and mother-law and what a rejoicing this will be. We all loved him dearly but Father God loved him more.
May his soul rest in peace.
