Obituary for Pastor Yvonne "Bonnie" Wilson

Yvonne Wilson, daughter of the late Clarence and Bernice Wilson, was born August 4, 1946 in Manhattan, New York at Harlem Hospital. She was affectionally called Bonnie and was one of six children: Clarence Wilson (deceased), Trina Wilson, Dawnise Wilson, Tay Wilson and Thayer Wilson Cole.

Yvonne graduated from Central Commercial High School and later met her husband, Raymond Black. From that union, they had one daughter, Chantar Black Riviere.

Yvonne worked at St. Claire’s Hospital in Manhattan as a nurse’s aide for over thirty years, until her retirement. She was also an Associate Pastor in the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church where she spent her time coaching and doing God’s will by uplifting the fallen humanity. Yvonne was an active member of The Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church. She was a graduate of the Universal Hagar’s Spiritual Church School of Mediumship and Psychology and a member of the Royal Chapter of the Knights of the All-Seeing Eye. She also helped care for her mother Bernice until her passing. Yvonne took care of many and opened her home to anyone in need.

She was a spark of light when you saw her. You would always see a smile on her face. She was always looking for ways to help others, whether it was a cousin looking for guidance or another family member that needed assistance. You could always look to her to have her say, no matter the situation.

Yvonne was full of life and such an inspiration to us all. She was always laughing and dancing; nothing but good times. She loved traveling on cruises and bus outings with her family and church family. She was always ready to capture a new adventure. Yvonne loved her family. God, family and then everything else.

Chantar was her everything, as well as her grandchildren. There was nothing she would not do for them. She will forever be missed and never forgotten.

Left to cherish her memory are daughter: Chantar Black Riviere; two granddaughters: Washequa Black Williams (Jamal) and Tresha Miller; one grandson: Corey Black; great grandchildren: Kimora Black, Lyeona Davis, Macayla Williams, Cory Ford William Black and Karly Black; uncle: Joe Eady; cousins: Dallas Banks, Charlene Banks and Sharon Banks as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, church family and friends.
