Obituary for Krystal Maria Colman

Tommasina! Chrissymama! Krystal Maria Colman is who she is! Krystal was born on December 4, 1984, in Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, NY. She was born to Christina Colman and Tommy Finklea (deceased). Krystal attended both Longwood and William Floyd schools. During high school, she also participated in the BOCES program where she studied Botany and Film Making. She then graduated in June 2003. She then went to Briarcliff College in New York where she completed her Associates Degree in June 2005.

As young woman who enjoyed learning, she also went on to study at Elizabeth City State University in North Carolina. Here she got the name “True Story”. If anyone spent any amount of time with Krystal, you know she always had a story to tell.

At an early age Krystal came to know the Lord Jesus Christ but not without question. Krystal understood and experienced the power of the Holy Spirit. She attended the Unity Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ as a child and as an adult attended Perfecting Faith Church, Freeport, NY.

Krystal was very pure creative! She was respected and know for her craft. If you said, ‘I need 20 party favors in a specific theme.’ You would get 40 and see the simplest of visions come alive at her hand. She enjoyed arts and craft, but she was also exceptionally talented in arranging fresh flowers! She was serious about her creative works and as a recipient you would know it. She also loved playing chess, old school movies and music as well as trivia!

November 7, 2018 gave birth to Kacen Jeremiah Colman. He was and still is the absolute Joy of her life! Krystal leaves behind to cherish her illuminating smile and memory, her son Kacen and her mother Christina Colman (Coram, NY). She leaves two maternal sisters Shawntae Colman-Royston (Atlanta, GA) and Jasmine Colman (Queens, NY) and her two brothers Emmanuel(Quiana) and Elijah Quinitchette (Coram, NY); her 3 nieces Aria Royston(Atlanta, GA), Skylah Quinitchette and Nylah Hairston also her Grandmother Climmie Edwards (Coram, NY) and 5 paternal siblings Derrick Hawthorne (South Carolina), Tracey Craft (Atmore, AL), Anitra Crook and Stacy Thomas (Bay Minette, AL), Climmie Jackson (Baldwin, AL). She leaves her uncles Steven Colman(Brooklyn, NY), Lawrence Colman, Clyde Edwards(Bronx, NY), Chris (Dorothy) Edwards(McDonough, NY), Ricki Phillips, Charles Finklea(Coram, NY). She also leaves to mourn her aunts Marcia Colman, Leasue Baldwin, Cydell(Auddie) Simmonds, Mia Colman, Dorothy Ann Siff, Barbara Finklea, Caroline Finklea, Constance(Clarence) Edwards. These along with large host of cousins, extended family, coworkers and friends that loved and will miss her dearly.
