Obituary for Michael Herring

Michael Herring was born October 14th, 1955, in Duplin County, North Carolina to parents Evangeline Herring and Ernest Newkirk. He was raised in a Christian home by his mother and grandmother. At an early age Michael joined Adoram Baptist Church Of Wallace, North Carolina, where he was later baptized. He attended Wallace Elementary school and later attended Wallace Rosehill High School where graduated.

After high school he moved to Queens, New York in 1972 where he met and married his lifelong partner, Marcia Jefferies. From their union they had two sons, Rasheen of Bellevua, NC and Michael G. of Chester, VA. Michael was gainfully employed for many years. He was a tenured employee at the Xerox Corporation, Cannon Corporation, and D.T.I.

He is proceeded in death by his brothers Fredrick and Wayne, mother Evangeline and Grandmother Margaret of Wallace, NC. Survivors include his wife, Marcia; his 2 sons Rasheen and Michael G, 5 grandchildren; Rashawn of Chester, VA, Addyson of Canton, GA, Melanie, Joshua and Brianna of Chester, VA, 2 nephews Julian & Marcus K., cousins Win Powers of New Jersey, Karen and Faith Cummings of New York, Ms. Joyce Carlton
of Wallace, NC, Howey Boney of Wallace, NC and Yvonne Powers of New York, and an
additional host of family and friends.
