Obituary for Alcides Feisal "Fiz" Brown

We assemble here to celebrate the life of Alcides Feisal Brown affectionately known by his family and friends as “Feisal” and also as “Fiz.” Feisal was born on December 10, 1983, in Fort Ord California, the only child of Kimberlyn Brown and Jumna Feisal Martin (deceased). He grew up in south Jamaica Queens where he received his education in the New York City Public School System.

He graduated from John Bowne High School in Flushing Queens. Upon completion, he moved to Indianapolis Indiana where he attended Harrison College receiving his Associate degree in Business Administration and Network Technology. He started his career as a repair technician at Espon Bell Tech in Indiana. Feisal eventually returned to New York where he continued his career as a Technical Systems Specialist. He would often get frustrated with everyone who lacked technical knowledge.

Feisal had a keen sense of humor and often made tech jokes. He was extremely innovative and loved to build and try new things. Feisal was the man to call if you had any technical problems, he would fix the issue and if you were special to him, he would surprise you and purchase the necessary items as a gift. He enjoyed Gardening, fishing, hiking, and photography. He loved animals and building things. He loved to visit open houses, it's something he was manifesting. He was big on family and community service, he never missed an opportunity to give back.

On August 5th, 2008, Feisal was blessed with his first son Xavier Alcides Brown. The joy and excitement he felt knowing he was going to be a father was beyond compare. Xavier is a replica of Feisal from his looks down to his love for Dunkin Donuts and Iguanas. It was fascinating watching how he and Xavier bonded as he grew into an amazing intelligent young man just like his father.

On May 5, 2014, Feisal welcomed his second son Amir Brown into his and Xavier’s world. It goes without saying that the three of them became an inseparable trio. He was a devoted father who loved his sons immensely. It was amazing to watch the three of them engage and just like his father Xavier proudly embraced the role of big brother.

On March 17, 2014, Feisal was initiated into the Prince Hall Grand Lodge of the State of New York, Beacon Light Lodge NO. 76 as a Master Mason and was raised to the Third Degree. Aside from becoming a father his affiliation with the Prince Hall Masons was one of his proudest moments leading his desire to be a positive impact on his community.

Family and close friends were everything to Feisal. He made it his life’s mission to try to attend each and every family function from birthdays to holidays and weekly family gatherings. Feisal loved his family dearly and it was evident that the love was reciprocal.

Feisal’s life, his jokes, impersonations, and his ability to "keep it real" will be treasured by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
