Obituary for Elaine M. Osman

Elaine M. Osman
Thank you Lord for helping us. Our confidence in you is strengthened. Our faith is fixed. We will sing your praises and give thanks as we celebrate the life of or dear sister Elaine. She had two sons, Norman and Leonard. At age 18 months, the first child of her parents Edward Lawrence and Lena Mae Osman (deceased) survived after floating in deep water of the disaster hurricane of 1931 in Belize, Central America. God had a purpose and a mission for this child Elaine. She grew to be a useful citizen on the face of this earth. She served others, unselfishly and showed love to all. She attended St. John's Cathedral Girls School, a private school then at St. Hilda's College where she completed her secondary education a short career in nursing enabling her to save her brother Calvin from drowning, when the family of eleven experienced a disaster, when their boat capsized. Calvin now (deceased) lived to give the family Mario, Sydney and Stephanie and Mother Eileen.

With character of pride and sincerity and a quite manner she held the responsibility as a first child. She accepted the position and performed it well. We all respected her and we were blessed to have her in this position. She even mothered her brother for 3 months while her mother was hospitalized for that time. Elaine was only 14 years then. When her mother came home she said to her baby brother Winston. "I am not your mother" she took care of the baby before and after school and cared for him at night time. As an adult, she worked in the merchandising business and continued to do the same when she took up residence in U.S.A. she retired from Macy's Department store after 25 years of Service.

In every appropriate way she used her creative and industries qualities to please and make each of us and many people happy and proud. As she fashioned gorgeous wedding gowns, wedding cakes, and other garments for numerous people. Sewing, knitting, crocheting were talents which she used to create beauty and style. Each product was unique in shape and was praise worthy. With her smile and quiet stature she established (one would say) a private, gorgeous Garment Factory, which produced by her caring ability and Blessed Hands. Those Blessed Hands she used to the extreme to show her heart-felt and unselfish love for all. Well done- all who came your way in life's journey. Her life was not in vain. Thanks be to God.

She gave her all to grandchildren who were near to her, and dear to her, Shannette, Tamika, Tasha, Michelle, L.J., Sharrell, Nickie and Karise. She loved them to the end. Mila her daughter-in-law cared for her to the end, with God's help.

She is gone forever with the Lord where she will meet her mother and father, two brothers (Freddy and Calvin) two sisters (Bell and Lois). We bid farewell to a dear sister, a mother, an aunt, a grandmother, a great grandmother and a friend Rest in peace Dear Elaine and rise in Glory.

Her memory will remain with the surviving family Norman, Leonard (sons) Winton Osman (brother) Lena Erales, Evelyn Henderson, Jennette Young (sisters) Mila (daughter-in-law) Grandchildren, Shannette, Tamika, Tasha, Michelle, L.J. Karice and others. Nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grand nephews, and others. Special thanks to Mila and April Morris who stood together during the time Elaine spent in the Hospital. Arroil, Elaine's first niece supported Mila, Elaine’s first niece supported Mila, Elaine's daughter-in-law. During the course of her hospitalization.

Besides her family and Civil Life she served in the Church as a Elder Dean as long as she was able, when she worshiped. 1970 when her family took up residence in South Ozone Park, with her parents, she worshiped in this church. With God's blessings she became a devoted worshiper. Thanks to be to God R.I.P. with love from All of Us.
