Troy Anthony Rainey, born to his proud parents mother Dionne Rainey and father Leon Javis Taylor III, in New York City on December 2, 1990. He was the only son of Dionne and the oldest son of Leon.
Troy excelled academically in every school that he attended; he attended PS 52, PS37, PS223, MS226, Thomas Edison High School and finally Stonybrook University in which he graduated in 2013 with his bachelors of art in sociology.
Troy enlisted in the Army National Guard in 2014 and began active duty in February of 2015. Troy had dreams and aspirations of helping people and lending a hand to those in need. He was one that would give his last if a person really needed it. Every occupation that Troy explored involved helping people in need.
Troy had many accomplishments in school and in life. He was the senior class president of his high school class. He was part of the gold honor roll, and a distinguished member of the Masons.
Troy touched many people in his short lived life. He leaves behind, his mother Dionne Rainey, Father Leon Javis III, brothers Lateef and Aaamir, his sisters Aaliyah and Aamani, grandmothers Bernice Wilson and Joan Taylor, Grandfather Leon Javis Taylor, he is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and loving friends
Military Bio:
SPC Troy Rainey hails from Jamaica, New York. He graduated from the State University of New York at Stony Brook with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology on 24 May 2013. SPC Rainey enlisted in the New York Army National Guard on 22 September 2014 as a 31B Military Policeman in the 107th Military Police Company at Fort Hamilton, NY. SPC Rainey attended One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Company B, 787th Military Police Battalion, 14th Military Police Brigade. Where he was assigned as the Platoon Guide.
