Obituary for Shirley E. Bailey

Shirley E. Bailey
S hirley Elaine Bailey was born on November 16, 1959 to the late Nancy Bailey and Nicky Bailey in Glen Cove, Long Island, New York. Shirley attended the NYC school system including John Adams in Jamaica, Queens , New York, where she was very popular with many friends. She was a very special young lady blessed with many talents like designing clothes. She was also blessed with a special personality. A diamond to anyone who knew her or ever crossed paths with her. This God given personality allowed her to be friends with everyone in her community and also allowed her to live a very fulfilled life of excitement and entertainment with barely a dull moment! Shirley was a great mother and grandmother, who took pride in raising her children.

Shirley enjoyed everything life had to offer from partying like a rock star in her younger years to outings and family functions in her later years. Any companion she had in her life greatly benefitted by the union of their friendship. She was upfront and always stayed true to her feelings and beliefs and spoke her honest opinion regardless or how anyone took it.

Shirley took great interest in fashion and all it had to offer:

She loved listening to music telling childhood stories and visiting with friends. She was sweet and genuine and loved by everyone! She was smart and helped build empires. From an early age was independent and loved fashion, food and fun! Always a loyal friend who never turned her back on anyone. If you were her friend you were a friend to the end!

Shirley was an excellent cook and everyone enjoyed her different foods.

Shirley enjoyed her grandchildren. They were a great light in her life. Shirley always went above and beyond for her children and supported them with everything they did in life. She was a phenomenal woman in every way! She was a strong woman who over came anything she was faced with. People admired her strength, courage, motivation and poise. Shirley was a very giving person who changed lives with laughter. There was always a moral to her stories. She survived so many obstacles in life. Friends knew her as a soldier, protector, sister and teacher proving to be the rose that grew from concrete!

Shirley leaves to celebrate her life: three children Ramon W. Whitfield, Ragan N. Whitfield, Randolph L. Bailey and a brother Nicholas N. Bailey, five grandchildren: Kahlia Wright, Zyenasia Whitfield, Zyeir Whitfield, Kareem Bailey, and Tylik Whitfield. Her dearest friends Mr. Charles Vasser and Emily Respass along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
