Obituary for James P. White
We celebrate the life of our dear father, James P. White Jr. God has richly blessed his parents, James White Sr. and Lula White when they gave birth to James on June 14, 1938 in Aiken, South Carolina. During his youth James became very interested in gospel music. He used to seclude himself in the basement of our home in Jamaica, Queens and spend countless hours "picking his guitar"and singing gospel songs by the Canton Spirituals and the Mighty Clouds of Joy. Throughout his life James developed his God given gift playing the base guitar for several groups. He was mostly noted as a member of the Mighty Gospel Seven and the group known as Billy Walker and the Allstars. On a personal level, James was a quiet man. Many of his neighbors made comments about his kindness and friendliness. James is survived by his former wife, Barbara White, three sons: Darryl , Kevin, and Neville. He also leaves behind nieces, other relatives and friends. We thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for his life.
