Delia Lawrence Smith the daughter of the late Molcey and Arthur Lawrence, was born on October 20, 1940. The lord called Delia to her eternal rest September 24, 2017 at Queens General Hospital after she had succumbed to an extended illness.
Delia Lawrence was born and raised in Germanville South Carolina, where she attended Lincoln High School. Delia was socially involved and she loved to dress. She was a proud member of the Women Eastern Star.
In the 1990’s as a young woman Delia relocated to New York City where she gained employment in the Garment District.
In the 1970’s is when she met and married the late McKinley Smith Sr. Delia and McKinley had three children, McKinley Jr., Dorothy and Jade.
She leaves behind her three children, her eldest sister Verline Lawrence, Manigault Meekins, sister in law Rosa Lee Lawrence, sister in law Betty Carr, sister in law Melinda Smith. 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
