Obituary for Rev. Olivia Warren

Rev. Olivia  Warren
Olivia Gamble Warren was born in Lake City, South Carolina, on
October 10th, 1930 and departed on December 28, 2017. She was 87
years old.
She was the child of Olivia and Reverend James Gamble. Her brothers
and sisters Norwood, Jonathan, Luis, Ellis, Luther, James Jr., Jacko
Earlene, Chloe, and Dorthy all preceded her in death.
Reverend Warren loved the Lord, with all her heart and accepted Christ
at an early age. She served as an active member of Saint Matthews AME
Church in Hollis, Queens for many years. Reverend Warren married Mr.
Joseph Warren and they became members of Morris Brown AME Church
in Jamaica, NY.
She received her Bachelor’s at the College of New Rochelle and worked
for many years at Collier Hospital (Roosevelt Island) as Chaplin
ministering to people who were extremely ill.
Reverend Warren had a strong personal relationship with Jesus and
patterned her life after him. She was outspoken but kind and will be
remembered as a woman of faith who served her community as well as
her family.
The Reverend Olivia Warren is survived by her brother Thelder, her sons
Philip (Lillian) and Robert. Daughters, Patricia (Roland Sims-deceased),
Linda and Pamela. Grandchildren, Tanisha, Ksisay, Joseph III, Philip IV,
Paul, Jwyanza and Jaleesa. Great grandchildren, Tatiana, Yuri Malik,
Keara, Ariana, Joseph IV., Mason and Nicholas. Also, a host of nieces and
nephews.
The family of Reverend Olivia Warren would like to thank you for your
thoughtfulness and generosity during this difficult time. We appreciate
your calls, prayers and other gestures of comfort.
