Gloria Eleanor Adams Ivory was born December 10, 1927 in Harlem, New York to Charles and Eleanor Adams. While growing up she attended P.S. 186 Grammar School and graduated from Waldy High School.
After graduating High School, she married her man Ivory in which they had four children: Suszette (deceased), Anthony, Deborah (deceased) and Steven.
After her marriage she furthered her education by attending nursing school in which she enjoyed a career in nursing finally retiring at the Bronx Veteran Administration Hospital.
Gloria was the Matriarch of the family and a warm spirit with a good heart who never turned anyone away. Her door was always open to anyone in need. She was an avid lover of Western movies, Crime Dramas and Game Shows. She also loved crossword puzzles.
Gloria also went on to raise three of her grandchildren: Yvette, Michael and Eddie, along with helping to raise several other children including late in life adopting Marissa Fernandez.
She leaves behind 2 surviving sons, 1 daughter-in-law, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind 3 brothers: Charles (Ethel), Walter (Jackie), Cornell (Sharon) and Linda (David). And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Gloria was well loved and will be deeply missed.
