Uncle Willie was gentle man with a childlike spirit. He had a calm charming demeanor and nothing seemed to bother him. He was a pleasure to be around. Although he was a man of few words, I looked forward to spending as much time as I could with him. I would often ask him how he was doing. He would respond by tilting his head, shrugging his shoulders, lifting his hands and saying “what am I gonna do?”. He never complained during his arduous battle with cancer. His illness never made him bitter or caused him to question “why?”. He was a champion in every sense of the word. Uncle Willie answered God's call when he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He found great comfort and peace in the scriptures read to him and the prayers of faith offered on his behalf. He’s in the arms of God now and the angels are surely rejoicing over his arrival......... I will always love my Uncle Willie and cherish the fond memories he left behind.
