Gloria, Gloria, Gloria. Gloria was my older and only sister of 6 children. We lived with our parents and grandmother. In Gloria’s eyes I could do no wrong, I was her baby sister. Gloria was more than a sister to me as she was like a mother who saw to my every need. On becoming a teenager with mood swings and body changes, she was the only one I could confide in without fear or judgement. Gloria was an excellent cook and baker. She tried to teach me, but my only interest was to time the pot and get my share of the food. Gloria was kind and caring with a white toothy smile on her face. She could give you the shirt off her back if you wanted it. To her, no one is a stranger, she always said “you never know”. I will forever cherish my memory of her. I miss my sister. I will always love her dearly.
